The match had a lot of interesting moments. One of them came when Shilo Sanders, the safety of the Buffaloes team, launched a hit at UCLA’s Carsen Ryan. Shilo started celebrating after the hit. However, his celebration did not last long as the player was quickly ejected and the Buffaloes received a penalty. It was a horrible moment for Shilo and his team.

However, Coach Prime Deion Sanders does not subscribe to this theory. He believes that the player needs to be more cautious. But as a coach, he defended Shilo in the post-match press conference. Sanders said:

I believe he was not at fault, because he turned his shoulder. He always does. He knows how to hit. And I told him I’m proud of him. He was having a heck of a game.

He further added:

He was being dominant on the defensive side of the ball, and I’m just proud of him. I’m sorry this transpired but I’m proud of his effort. I don’t ask my kids to be the best on the field, I ask them to give their best. And he gave us his best.

As a coach, Sanders did the right thing by defending him. However, it does not seem that the safety was happy regarding the challenge as it cost his team at a crucial moment.

The Colorado Buffaloes have lost their rhythm after initial hype

After an abysmal last season, the Buffaloes started this season in style. They won their first three matches and gave a strong message to the college football world after beating their neighbors in the city derby. The success could be attributed to Deion Sanders, who was appointed to change the team’s dynamics this season. He brought a set of new players and those players did their job pretty well.

However, that winning streak suffered a setback in recent times. They lost two games earlier and now they lost another two. The Buffaloes are only two wins away from becoming eligible for the 2023 Bowls. It is to be seen when they register those two wins.

Sanders too is aware of this and knows where the work is needed. He conveyed the difficulties the offense faced in running the ball, with their attempts at gaining first downs often resulting in negative yardage. To address this issue, Prime straightforwardly suggested a complete overhaul of the offensive line.

There’s a struggle to run the ball. And we gotta figure it out. The big picture – you go get new linemen. That’s the picture. Imma paint it perfectly.
