On Monday afternoon before 1:45 p.m. fire crews responded to a structure fire at the Idaho Youth Ranch on Irving Street.

Idaho Youth CEO, Scott Curtis said the fire started in a cardboard box in the outdoor storage area and then spread to the side of the building.

A lot of donations were damaged in the fire and could cause a major setback in its thrift store operations.

"This is the location where all of those goods are processed, all the clothing is sorted and then its redistributed out in an efficient way for those stores. So, having this closed right now is going to significantly impede our ability to process all of the donated goods that come in and then get the things to the stores to keep the shelves stocked," Curtis said.

Nearly 13 engines, three ladder trucks, three command officers, one rehab unit, Ada County Paramedics and Boise Police were on scene.

According to Curtis, 125 workers were at the warehouse when the fire started, but there were no reported injuries.

Two firefighters were treated for injuries. One firefighter was taken to the hospital, and another was treated on site. An Idaho Youth Ranch official says folks wanting to donate, cash donations are being accepted. Services for youth and families will continue without interruption.
